Exploring Belfast: An unlikely success story (Free)

By walking around the city centre and stopping at important landmarks, this tour provides a survey of the growth and development of Belfast from a 17th-Century Ulster Plantation town to late Victorian and Edwardian industrial powerhouse; and understanding the city as a site of communal conflict and co-existence, and as a manifestation of civic pride and aspiration.

Date and times: Friday, 17th August. Tour 1) 10am and Tour 2) 12 noon (duration – approx. 90 mins)

Street Art Walking Tour with Seedhead Arts (Free) 

Like Berlin and Bethlehem, also famous for their walls, Belfast has become a place where Street Art has flourished, where artists from around the world have come to paint. Devised and led by the local artists who have driven the scene in the last few years this is a 90 minute, gently paced guide to the ever changing face of Street Art in the Cathedral Quarter.

Intimacy meets 'Views from the Fault Lines' hosted in collaboration with Science Gallery Dublin 5:30-8:00pm. There will be a free guided tour at 5:30pm of the Science gallery Dublin latest exhibition 'LIFE AT THE EGDES' followed by an interactive session from 6:00- 8:00pm exploring the themes of 'Intimacy' (the Scince Gallery's upcoming exhibition) and 'Views from the Fault Lines' (Shape Europe's 2018 theme).
